Giving Thanks

Another month has come and gone with lots of fun, memories, family time, and more.

Aunt Kathy, Mom, and Aunt Gale making Murr's Wild Plum Jam with plums we picked from the Ranch.

Thanksgiving lunch for Cape in the car.
We enjoyed being with lots of my side of the family for a couple of wonderful Thanksgiving dinners. First with the Blankenship side, then with the Gary side. It was the first Thanksgiving without my Murr and I do say it was hard not to miss her so much. But, I do feel like she is watching in over us all the time, and it was heart warming to be with the rest of the family. We have so much to give thanks for! Cape had to eat his Thanksgiving lunch on the way to Papa's house, because his afternoon nap is at 1:00.....which is when the big people were digging in! He did have sweet potatoes for lunch though!

We had a visit from Uncle Clark, and Cape got several new clothing items from him! It was good to get to see Clark, since we hadn't seen him since June. We also made a trip to the Ranch as part of our family time with my side for Thanksgiving, and had alot of fun. There was a fire while we were there that started coming onto our land, so Cam and his friend Joseph had to help put part of it out! YIKES!

Our sweet little guy is now 7 months, and seeming more grown up each day. Where is the "slow down" button in life? Just as I am getting used to the idea that he is able to sit up on his own he starts crawling! He can go get toys he wants now and chases Bentley all over the house and tackles him. Of course you would think Bent would go crazy, but he seems to enjoy it (most of the time) and even gives Cape head bumps, or what I call love buts. I have been making all his baby food and love doing so. I know it would be easier to buy it and they do have organic now, but I love making it for our little sweet pea. Here's a little of what Cape was up to in his 7th month:

-has eaten: brown rice, barley, and oatmeal cereals, green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, winter squash, and apples.
-favorite foods = not one eww this is weird face: peas, and squash, but after a day or two he has loved each new food.
-met Santa at Holland Garden when we went to see all the trees, and LOVED him!
-sitting all by himself at 6 mos, 3 days
-crawling at 6.5 months towards Bentley of course!
-had his first and hopefully last ear infection
-can say dada, and sounds like he is working on "ppp" next
- is now sitting in his bath chair instead of sling
-loves to listen to toys with music
-likes toys that will roll or move as he pushes them on the wood floor
-smiles and laughs at lots of things which melts my heart!

I am sure I am forgetting something, but can't think of it right now. Cape is so much fun I can hardly remember everything he does every day now. He truly is becoming his own little person. How sweet to see him grow in so many ways...what a blessing.
