R & R

After what seemed like the longest week ever, I have now had time to relax a little. I was trying to get things mostly in order in time to have friends and family over for Kyle's 27th Birthday. Although I managed to not take one picture of everyone here, I do have before and after pics of the yard. It's come a long way. The only things we lack are a great lounging area, a porch swing, and a few more plants. But that will all have to happen along the way. We had to build up our yard around the patio so the grass is still growing in, but you'll get the idea. Most of the really hard work is complete. Let me tell you....if you want to be in shape shovel West Texas "dirt" aka clay for 3 days straight. Your arms and back will hurt so bad but it is well worth it. Kyle and I felt like two old folks with noodles for arms after all the shoveling, but I'm so glad we did it! Kyle even brought in trailer load after load of mulch and planted some things on his birthday to help. Awww so sweet! I've tried to put the before pic next to the after pic starting with the back and then the front yard.

  1. That looks amazing! You created a little piece of heaven in your own backyard. I love it! And you can be so proud that you all did all the hard work yourselves. I am impressed.
