WINDING UP AND WINDING DOWN

The end of the school year is always so hectic. Everyday there is something new that needs to be completed, turned in, tested, organized, etc. But I just love this time of year. I think it starts around my birthday (April 26th) or a little before. The pear trees at our house and through out all of town start to bloom beautiful white and pink flowers. I LOVE THAT! The sun warms outside and that's where I love to be. My kids (aka students to most ;) ) start getting restless, but slowly we start having more and more "fun" days. We have fun throughout the year, but the end of school marks parties, buddy field day, last field trips and more. I really enjoy getting to just enjoy my kiddos. As school activities come to a close I get to begin my "project". I love trees and flowers and being outdoors in our own little piece of heaven. Kyle and I love taking walks in the evening, and I get to walk in the nice hot afternoons with my lovely sister who is only 7 houses down. :) In one of my hanging plants a dove has nested and layed 2 eggs, that I assume will be hatching any day now! How amazing is that to get to see?! Anyway, back to my project. Our backyard.......well just yard in general needs help. It is a work in progress, but I am so anxious to start spending more and more time fixing it up. When Kyle isn't working he likes being outside too, so I am hoping together we will end up having a backyard to relax and enjoy for this whole summer! My wonderful family is giving me plants and splitting up roots to be planted in the garden, which makes it especially special! Kyle is getting me TREES TREES TREES for my birthday. YAY! If anyone has any great tips for successful landscaping, transplanting, planting....let me know. I would love suggestions. I'll post pics as we go. Until then.......stop and relax if only for a second and enjoy the gifts around you this time of year. It's truly breathtaking!
