Capester's 3rd Birthday!
Cape William Wooldridge you show us how much fun being a little boy is everyday! You wake up and start playing and don't stop until you climb into bed in the evening. You STILL LOVE cars and trucks, and motorcycles are your new favorite thing. You rode on Boss's dirt bike at the ranch, which scared me to death, and you loved every second. When I asked you questions for your 3rd birthday page in your birthday book you told me you want to be a motorcycle rider when you grow up. You love to drive your tractor outside, play in the sand (then wash your toys in the sink), build things, and paint. You still love to line things up, and are very good at grouping things together. The teacher in me loves to see this! You like to eat cold oatmeal, and after following a very strict diet for 3 weeks, we've discovered that food colorings, preservatives, cane sugar, and dairy trigger grumpiness and upset tummy for you. You were such a champ during this experiment, and it was well worth it! I can tell you are in a growth spurt again. You know how to dress yourself from head to toe, and do so every morning after breakfast. We don't always agree on the outfit, but you can put it all on alone. Most of the time you get your shoes on the correct feet, but we are still working on it. You say such grown up things like, "I will be on my best behavior mom" and I will have a good attitude and a happy heart today". Your vocabulary seems endless, yet you surprise us with new words all the time. I love watching you be a big brother to Shepherd. You can't give him enough kisses and hugs everyday, and while occasionally you get a little rough the one time you actually could have hurt Shepherd you cried at the thought of it. Such a kind heart buddy. I pray that you always keep that kind heart, stay healthy and strong willed, have an eagerness to learn, and that you always know God is with you and loves you even more than Mom and Dad do which is hard to imagine. I look at you and see a little boy now. No longer a baby or even a toddler. In someways that breaks my heart, but then you smile and say something that cracks me up, and you can have a conversation with me while driving that amazes me, and I remember that you are still that same little baby from 3 years ago, but in a more complex, teaching me lessons, loving life and to laugh, kind of way. My goodness we love you son. Like we sing together, "You are my sunshine". Happy 3rd birthday!
