Blessings

We have had alot going on lately and in the midst of everyday life sometimes we lose track of seeing the blessings in it all. Almost 2 weeks ago Papa was getting ready to have a knee replacement surgery in Amarillo when Nana fell and broke her back and had to come to Lubbock while Papa was in Amarillo and have back surgery. They are both now at home and Papa starts physical therapy soon, but Nana has 6 weeks bed rest before she can start physical therapy. School had just started back and it's always hard to get back into the groove, but this semester has seemed a little harder than usual. Kyle had been slaving away on one of our rent houses with his dad, so I was only seeing him through a half opened eye when he would get in at 1:00 am or so and then again through the same sleepy eye as he left early to go back. I wanted to start working out regularly but everyday life seems to have been getting in the way lately.

However!! When I was starting to feel a little down and distant from where I thought I should be, I realized that out of all of this I have so many blessings. Although Nana and Papa are recuperating we are blessed to have so many of our grandparents still with us, and I also got to see first hand how family steps up to the plate when everyone is needed. I had a student at school remind me in his own little way that although I get discouraged, I can still make a difference everyday even if I don't see immediate results. We were worried that the rent house wasn't going to be rented, but God provided for us. Without Kyle's and his family's hard work for several weeks the place wouldn't have been ready to be rented when the renters came calling. And as for working out.....well that is going to "change", but at least one of my concerns is only when I can work out and not that I am not able to.

Moral of this blog......to say that in every obstacle God can work it for His good, and maybe I should try to do so as well!
